- TSI, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of precision measurement instruments, held a very successful open house event on the occasion of expanding its location in Aachen, Germany. The two-story addition became necessary as the company outgrew its previous space due to the continued growth in European countries and the positive market dynamics, in particular in the field of engine exhaust particle measurement technology. TSI's German subsidiary was founded more than 40 years ago and has been based in Aachen at its Neuköllner Strasse premises since 2001. TSI GmbH is the headquarters in Europe, Middle East and Africa for the company's diverse business units. Over the past years TSI's business, its number of employees and areas of responsibility have grown steadily. The 300 square meters (3,200-sq.-ft.) expansion now provides much needed space for a larger customer service area, additional laboratories and showrooms as well as offices.
During the open house there was a full program of activities. Every 30 minutes groups of visitors were guided on scripted tours through the new expansion and the refurbished sections of the existing building. During the tours, visitors learnt about TSI's history, how the European headquarters came to Aachen, the company's diverse product lines and wholly owned subsidiaries. TSI experts also offered demonstrations of research particle instruments in the application laboratory, of a large number of test and measurement products for the measurement of ventilation parameters, airborne dust and indoor air quality parameters, of Fluid Mechanics measurements systems in a new dedicated laboratory, as well as of monitoring systems for cleanrooms. TSI is a global leader in these markets and proud to partner with research institutions and customers around the world to set the standard for this type of measurements.
One particular highlight was the presentation of TSI's expanded customer service area. The new service facility has more than doubled its floor space and been equipped with state-of-the-art laboratory technology. It now offers calibration service of Engine Exhaust Condensation Particle Counters (EECPC) in accordance with ISO 27891. TSI is the global leader of EECPC instruments that fully meet all PMP requirements for Euro 5 and Euro 6 testing of engine emissions and vehicle certification. With the expanded service area, TSI GmbH can offer its customers the quickest and most cost-effective annual maintenance and calibration service of EECPC instruments.
The event benefited from being held on the first very sunny day in June, so visitors could enjoy the catering and drinks outdoors. In his welcome speech Oliver F. Bischof, Sales Director at TSI GmbH, emphasized that the investment into the expanded building is a sign of confidence in TSI's position in the European market, in the Aachen location as well as in the expertise of its Aachen-based staff. "TSI manufactures a large number of cutting-edge measurement instruments that serve many markets, from straight forward air flow measurements to high-tech nanoparticle applications. But it is the people that set TSI apart as they have much special expertise in the markets we serve, and have a keen interest in sharing it." With an increase of the floor space by almost 50% there will now also be more space for adding new talents to our TSI EMEA Headquarters in Aachen.
