A Global Reach | Getting to Know Us | TSI Strengths | Our Product Lines
TSI Incorporated designs and manufactures precision instruments used to measure flow, particulate, and other key parameters in environments the world over. TSI serves the needs of industry, governments, research institutions, and universities, with applications ranging from pure research to primary manufacturing. Every TSI instrument is backed by unique technical expertise and outstanding quality.
A Global Reach
TSI instruments are used around the world. They are found on mountaintops and ocean beaches. They are used in submarines, office towers, factories, and schools. They operate in laboratories and on farms. They went to the North and South Poles and served on desert battlefields. They flew in the space shuttle, and one even went to Mars to measure the velocity and direction of Martian winds. TSI instruments help people investigate, identify and solve measurement problems. They often play a pivotal role in designing or modifying production processes or testing procedures. They are used in industrial, university, and government facilities in every industrialized country, in nearly every major industry and technical discipline, often in crucial research or control situations. For example, our particle imaging system helped researchers understand how new airplanes might better handle sudden downdrafts. Our fluid flow instruments were involved in breakthrough research aimed at building a better artificial heart valve. And one of our particle counters sniffed out an open bottle of toxic cleaner in an elementary school, saving the administration from ripping down walls to determine why children were getting sick. Our first instruments were developed in 1961 in the home of one of our founders. Since then, the company has focused on helping people make critical measurements. Success took us from a fledgling basement enterprise to a global manufacturer of state-of-the-art instrumentation for research, industry, and defense. Today, TSI is a recognized solutions provider in the many markets we serve.

Getting to Know Us
TSI has a worldwide presence with over 800 dedicated employees working in facilities in North America and Europe and Asia. Our corporate sales and service offices (St. Paul, Minnesota, USA; Aachen, Germany; Marseille, France; Arlanda Stad, Sweden; High Wycombe, United Kingdom; Beijing, China, and Bangalore, India) provide regional customer support. We also maintain a network of knowledgeable manufacturers’ representatives and distributors to provide local support worldwide. TSI has two wholly owned subsidiaries: Environmental Systems Corporation (Knoxville, Tennessee), a leading supplier of products and services for outdoor environmental monitoring, and DICKEY-john® Corporation (Auburn, Illinois), a manufacturer of specialized instrumentation used in public works and agriculture. Our facilities total more than 425,000 square feet of space devoted to product development, manufacturing, and customer support. TSI annual sales exceed 150 million U.S. dollars. TSI researchers and engineers have been granted more than 50 patents and have a proven record of developing instruments that are the first, the only, the best of their kind. Participation in societies and standards committees has long been a TSI priority. Our engineers have chaired or sat on a variety of committees in organizations such as ASHRAE, ANSI, AIHA, and AAAR*. Our staff and products are involved in current global issues, such as diesel engine exhaust reduction, biohazard protection, homeland security, environmental pollution, workplace comfort, and facility monitoring. Data provided by our instruments are used in monitoring and research applications destined to have a long-term impact on humankind and the world around us. *American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), and American Association for Aerosol Research (AAAR).
