TSI Gives Back to Health and Safety Community
January 1, 2009 — TSI Incorporated donated over $250,000 in PortaCount Respirator Fit Testers to numerous University and College ABET-accredited industrial hygiene training programs. TSI realizes the importance of the future of Industrial Hygiene, EH&S and Industrial Safety and would like to recognize these programs and aid in their success. These fit testers will allow students to prepare for their graduation and transition into the Professional Health and Safety community.
The PortaCount Respirator Fit Tester quantitatively fit test all types of respirators. It is also a valuable training tool as part of a written respiratory protection program. The PortaCount fit tester can be used in real time fit test mode to show how to determine the optimal make, model and size of respirator for any individual. The real time fit test mode also trains the respirator user how to don a respirator for optimized fit.
Respiratory protection is a critical aspect of course work these programs offer and training on quantitative fit testing is an important part of their instrument lab class. Rick Fulwiler, faculty at a receiving University states, “TSI’s thoughtful donation of PortaCount fit testers will enhance these educational and research programs.”
