CHEMICAL CHARACTERIZATION
TSI offers instruments that analyze the molecular weight of biomolecules and the chemical composition of particles. Applications range from proteomics to virology, from drug delivery studies to chemical/biological detection, from atmospheric aerosol research to engine exhaust analysis.
The macroIMS™ Macroion Mobility Spectrometer, combines electrospray technology with ion mobility analysis and macroion detection. The macroIMS system enables high flow-through, high-speed mass and/or size analysis of macromolecules. Its rapid, continuous-flow scan rate, on the order of seconds, along with its ultrawide mass range that extends well beyond a megaDalton, makes the macroIMS system an excellent tool for analytical and preparative separations. Applications include characterization of proteins, lipoproteins, nucleic acids, whole viruses, and whole cell organelles.
The Aerosol Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer (ATOFMS) provides on-line particle sizing and correlated chemical composition measurements. Incorporating the latest advances in aerodynamic focusing lenses, the ATOFMS is designed to analyze nanoparticles and supermicron aerosols. The bipolar ATOFMS acquires both positive and negative mass spectra for each particle analyzed so that the maximum amount of chemical information is extracted in an individual analysis. Applications include active ingredient characterization of pharmaceuticals, chemical/biological detection, and atmospheric aerosol studies.
