In-Flight Air Filtration: Delta Air Lines Video Features TSI IAQ Products

Delta Air Lines uses TSI instruments to demonstrate in-flight airflow and ventilation.

In September, Delta Air Lines released a 2-minute video, "How Air Filtration Works on Planes." In this video, members of the Delta team use three TSI® instruments to illustrate how ventilation, filtration, and airflow work on a flight, and how Delta's engineers check that these systems are performing properly.

We were excited to see TSI tools in action with Delta. Watch the short video and look for our instruments at the following timestamps:

  • 1:11 -  Q-Trak Indoor Air Quality Monitor 7575 is measuring carbon dioxide or CO2. The Q-Trak captures and measures CO and CO2, temperature, humidity, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and air velocity.
  • 1:32 -  AeroTrak Handheld Particle Counter 9306 is a portable solution to count airborne particles and classify by size while also measuring humidity and temperature.  The AeroTrak 9306 is an ideal instrument for measuring air filter performance in spaces where air quality is crucial.
  • 1:51 -  P-Trak Ultrafine Particle Counter 8525 directly measures ultrafine particles that are smaller than 1 μm (also referred to as 1 micron or micrometer). Our customers can use the P-Trak to look for the presence of unknown indoor pollutants such as those from combustion sources found in planes, trains, and automobiles.

TSI is proud to be able to help companies assess risks to their customers and staff during this global pandemic. If you have question about COVID-19 in regards to indoor and outdoor air quality, infection prevention, respiratory protection, visit our COVID-19 & TSI: Questions and Answers section.
