High Flow Impactors 128, 129, 130, 131

SKU: 130A

Models 128, 129, 130 and 131 are High Flow Impactors (HFI) ideal for sampling particles at low concentrations (pristine environments), for collecting more mass per stage as compared with conventional MOUDI™ impactors, or for obtaining samples in shorter sampling intervals.

Product Details

HFI impactors are available with 3, 4, 5 or 6 stages in the 0.25 to 10 µm aerodynamic size range. Particle deposits are collected on 75-mm substrates which can be analyzed for mass, or via chemical analysis or microscopy.

Model Stages Nominal Cut Points (µm) @ 100 L/min inlet flow rate Pressure Drop (kPa)
128 3 10, 2.5, and 1.0 0.6
129 4 10, 2.5, 1.0, and 0.25 5
130A & 130B 5 2.5, 1.4, 0.77, 0.44 and 0.25 6
131A & 131B 6 10, 2.5, 1.4, 0.77, 0.44 and 0.25 6

Applications

  • Atmospheric aerosol sampling for size distribution and compositional analyses
  • Workplace aerosol analysis
  • Industrial hygiene studies
  • Biological aerosol characterization

Features & Benefits

  • 100 L/min sampling flow rate
  • Sharp cut-off size characteristics
  • Micro-orifice nozzle plates designed for low flow resistance (under 6 kPa) and reduced particle bounce and re-entrainment
  • Up to 6 impactor stages with nominal cut points between 250 nm and 10 µm, plus a final filter (90 mm)
  • 75-mm impaction substrates designed to deposit particles in four separate quadrants for easy substrate division
  • Low inter-stage losses
  • Easily removable collection substrates allow for quick turn-around time for productive use of the instrument
  • Impactor is made of anodized aluminum for light weight, durability and nozzle dimensional stability
  • Light weight, compact design
